The Bedstead Superb pocket sprung mattress is specifically designed for use on bed frames. It will be supplied upholstered in fabric Oyster TK589, but a wider choice of covers is available on request, or may be viewed in store. Mattress construction, fillings and upholstery The single Bedstead Supreme mattress has a double layer of 1178 pocket springs made from 1.42mm vanadium steel wire. Each spring, which measures 61mm diameter, is individually sewn into cotton calico pockets, and hand formed into a honeycomb nested unit. The Bedstead Superb mattress is 23cm deep with three rows of genuine hand side-stitching and horizontal handles. With air vents on all sides, the borders are upholstered in coir and wool, and finished with piped ticking. Inside you will also find 1000gsm bonded British fleece wool and cotton plus 1200gsm long-stranded horsehair blended with wool and enclosed in a hair-proof cambric cover. This is overlaid with 900gsm real Shetland fleece wool and cotton. The mattress is finished with Belgian ticking and hand tufted with felt washers. (Gsm = grammes per square metre.) Manufacturer’s Recommendations As a bespoke manufacturer, Vi-Spring make general recommendations of mattress suitability based on body weight, but it is still a matter of personal preference. Our Bed Buying and Care Guides are also designed to help you make the right choice. Vi-Spring mattresses are also designed as 'no need to turn'. The manufacturer still recommends that you rotate the head and foot ends on a regular basis and occasionally flip them over to prolong the life of the product. Other things to consider If you purchase a mattress only, Vi-Spring wish you to consider the following to ensure you get the best night’s sleep… Never use a Vi-Spring mattress on an old worn out divan, bed base or spiral spring frame. Not only could you damage or at best shorten the life of the mattress, but you will also nullify the guarantee. Never use a Vi-Spring mattress on a slatted base where the gap between slats exceeds 6cm (2.5”). A mattress pad is also recommended, which will provide insulation between the mattress and the slats, and so minimise the effect of abrasion. These tips are part of a full care guide issued with every Vi-Spring divan or mattress made. Delivery For access purposes the single (90cm) mattress is delivered in one piece. Please ensure you have sufficient access to your chosen room. As part of our Premier Delivery Service your furniture will be unwrapped and placed in position by our professionally trained delivery team.
